Mr. Naidu helped Amma distribute certificates of enrolment to the Ashram's Amrita Nidhi lifetime-pension programme to 10 beneficiaries, the majority of who suffered from physical or mental abnormalities, including one man who was missing both his arms and legs. The 10 were representative of 1000 new beneficiaries in the Twin Cities. Along with the certificates of enrolment, the beneficiaries were also given their first three-month’s pension allotments.
Speaking from the dais, Mr. Naidu said, "India is leading the whole world in spirituality, and Amma is India's primary spiritual leader. Many foreigners have come and are sitting here for hours in austere conditions. Why? Because they are receiving from Amma the bliss that money cannot give. |
Money cannot give happiness--by seeing the foreigners sitting here we understand this. Whatever work we do, we cannot get this kind of bliss."
He then enumerated the Ashram's social-welfare programmes in Andhra Pradesh, specifically mentioning the housing colonies for the poor the Ashram has constructed in Guddimalkappur, Filim Nagar and Produttur. "Amma is always rescuing the poor from their problems," he said.
"Amma has come to Hyderabad to give satsang, bhajans and relieve us of our burdens. It is a blessing to participate in this programme."
